On July 16, China Construction (South Pacific) Development Co Pte Ltd (hereafter CCDC) hosted the Conference for Sustainable Development in the Construction Industry in Singapore. The conference brought together government officials, corporate executives, and sustainability strategists from organizations including the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Housing & Development Board (HDB), Land Transport Authority (LTA), JTC, SingHaiYi Group, KTP Consult, Building System and Diagnostics (BSD), and Climate Asia. Participants explored pathways for green and low-carbon transformation in the construction industry and shared the latest practices and technological advancements in sustainable development. During the conference, the report titled Innovation Journey in Embracing Sustainable Construction by CCDC was officially released.

The conference, themed “Sustainable development in the construction industry,” focused on industry policies, cutting-edge technologies, and corporate practices. Experts from BCA and JTC delivered insightful presentations on topics “Towards Low Carbon Construction in the Built Environment” and “Jurong Innovation District: Building Tomorrow’s Sustainable Manufacturing Hub".” Their in-depth analysis of policy directions and industry trends sparked enthusiastic responses from the audience.

Following this, speakers from developers and consultants shared their successful experiences and reflections on sustainable construction. Topics included adaptive reuse, green strategic planning, and the application of new sustainable solutions. Among the highlights, CCDC also showcased the selected sustainable solutions currently being adopted by CSCEC, demonstrating the company’s active exploration and commitment to sustainability.

The event also witnessed the official launch of a new sustainability report, "Innovation Journey in Embracing Sustainable Construction". Through a short video, the company presented its green development journey, implementation milestones, and future mission. This publication covers the application of innovative technologies such as spearheading PPVC, adopting DfMA, leading the implementation of BIM as well as IDD technologies, promoting robotic construction and green energy solutions, such as solar systems and smart micro-grid system, demonstrating the commitment to the built environment transformation. More than a summary of over three decades of sustainable practices in Singapore, this publication is also a milestone in our journey toward greener and smarter construction practices.
Mr. Qian Liang Zhong, Chairman of CCDC, delivered the closing speech. He highlighted the announcement made by National Development Minister Chee Hong Tat on July 11, regarding the Built Environment Decarbonisation Technology Roadmap. The roadmap includes more than 50 technologies and strategies to reduce the operational and embodied carbon of buildings. It will serve as a guide for building owners and developers on reducing the carbon footprint of the buildings, and is set to be ready by early 2026.
Mr. Qian emphasized that this conference is a vivid reflection of the industry’s proactive response to the policy. He noted that the green transformation of the built environment requires policy support, technological innovation, and collaborative efforts. Green building is not the work of a single player but the result of multi-stakeholder cooperation. CCDC will continue to uphold the values of responsibility, professionalism, innovation, sustainability, and talent development, and work hand-in-hand with industry peers to develop a Greener, Smarter, and More Sustainable Built Environment in Singapore.

This event not only served as a valuable platform for multi-party exchange but also infused new energy into the sustainable development of the construction industry. CCDC will seize this opportunity to further advance green transformation across the sector and work hand in hand with all stakeholders toward a more sustainable future.
