China Construction (South Pacific) Development Co Pte Ltd (CCDC) is pleased to announce that our project, Bidadari Contract 5 (Woodleigh Village), has been conferred the HDB Construction Safety Award 2025 (Main Award for BTO Projects).

This prestigious accolade is presented by the Housing & Development Board (HDB) to recognise contractors who have demonstrated outstanding safety performance and excellence in implementing comprehensive Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) management systems in their projects.

This achievement reflects our continuous commitment to uphold the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental practices across all our worksites.

Located within the Bidadari estate, Woodleigh Village is bounded by Upper Serangoon Road, Woodleigh Link and Bidadari Park Drive.

Woodleigh Village comprises 3 residential blocks of 13 storeys in height and offers 330 units of 3 and 4-room flats. Designed to be an integrated transport and residential hub, this development will be linked to a bus interchange, hawker centre and Woodleigh MRT station. To ensure residents will have their privacy, the units will be set on higher floors, while these public facilities will be located on the lower floors.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our project team successfully completed all three residential blocks and handed them over to the homeowners on schedule. The team’s perseverance and dedication have once again demonstrated our ability to overcome adversity, deliver quality homes, and, most importantly, ensure that all works are carried out in a safe and healthy manner.

With its exemplary Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) performance, Bidadari Contract 5 (Woodleigh Village) was also awarded the WSH SHARP Award in 2020, marking the company’s first HDB project to achieve this recognition. The WSH Council confers this award to organisations that have demonstrated excellence in upholding high standards of workplace safety and health.

At the commencement of the project, we conducted a comprehensive identification of all environmental aspects, hazards, and risks present on site. Based on these findings, appropriate control measures were established and implemented to effectively manage each identified safety concern.

In collaboration with the various subcontractors, detailed risk assessments were developed for all work activities. Prior to the commencement of any work, briefings on the Risk Management process were conducted to ensure that all team members clearly understood the associated hazards and the required control measures.

Subsequent physical inspections were carried out on site to verify that all safety provisions were properly implemented in accordance with the approved risk assessments. Throughout the project, CCDC Management has also taken proactive initiatives to promote greater ownership and cultivate a strong safety culture among all personnel on site.

With these prestigious recognitions and awards, CCDC remains committed to continually enhancing our safety standards and fostering a strong culture of care and responsibility. We will continue to uphold safe workplace practices so that every worker, including ourselves, can return home safely to our families at the end of each day.
